The Session
-
Kids of all ages who can sit on their own, from toddlers to big kids.
-
Ten minutes per child, so twenty minutes for two children and thirty for three. Sibling portraits happen within your family’s time.
-
That’s completely fine. Some kids jump right in and some need a minute to warm up. I keep things relaxed and playful, and quiet, serious faces often make the most beautiful portraits.
-
No need. I’ll do all the directing so your child only has one voice to follow. The most natural portraits happen when kids don’t feel corrected, so sit back and enjoy watching them be themselves. If I need your help, I’ll ask.
-
This session is just for the kids, so the focus stays on them. If you’d like a family session, I’d love to talk about an in-home session on film. -
Each booking is for one family’s children. If cousins would like a photo together, book back-to-back times and let me know, and we’ll take a few together.
-
In black and white, color disappears and texture does the work. Solid colors, soft knits, simple collars, and small, subtle prints photograph beautifully. Please skip large logos, graphics, and busy patterns. Booking families get 15% off at Wildflowers through November 22 if you’d like to pick out something new.
-
Yes! A favorite stuffed animal or blanket is always welcome.
-
Yes, just one quick favor: give your child’s face a once-over before we start. A runny nose, snack crumbs, or a milk mustache take seconds to wipe away but can add a lot of editing time. A quick check helps me get your gallery to you as soon as possible. I’ll have wipes on hand too!

Behind the Lens
Lauren Miles is a New Jersey–based photographer working across commercial, interior, and lifestyle projects. She studied Photography at George Mason University and began her professional career in Washington, D.C. in 2010. Over the course of her career, Lauren has photographed a wide range of assignments for businesses and creative brands, with experience spanning catalog work, weddings, portraiture, and interiors. She also served as a staff photographer for one of the nation’s largest public school systems, creating documentary imagery of classroom life, major events, and visiting dignitaries and public figures.
Outside of work, Lauren spends most of her time with her husband and their two boys. Together, they love classic cars, summers at the beach, and returning to Nantucket whenever they can. She grows far too many dahlias and considers fall—when they're all blooming at once—the best time of year.
